Today (2/1) marks the 10th annual "National Wear Red Day." And it's all about raising awareness about heart disease. Did you realize that although 1 in 31 women die of breast cancer, fully 1 of every 3 women lose their life to heart disease?
Today, celebrities will be speaking out on the issue and wearing red, iconic landmarks, countrywide will be dressed in red and the American Heart Association will be spreading the word that there is something that you can personally do about it.
Through the efforts of the "Go Red" campaign, more than a third of women say they have lost excess pounds, more than half say they're exercising more and a third say they that they have talked to their doctor about developing a "heart health plan."
Be the message. Wear the red. "National Wear Red Day." We like it! (Photo by mylifeinred.net)
