The Pet Planet
Welcome to the Pet Planet! Why adopt a pet? For many reasons: companionship, love, fun, responsibility and perhaps a better sense of self and improved health along the way.
Owning a pet can lower a person's blood pressure. They can relax you by watching them play or stroking their fur. They can decrease the recuperation time of sick patients by giving them something to ease their pain and to look forward to. Pets are now often brought in to children’s hospitals and elderly homes to boost moral.
Watching playful pets can give you a great mood boost after a hard day and make you smile and laugh. If you long for someone to take care of and to be loved by they can fill that need as well. They can help you get exercise and play with you as well.
It is a proven fact that pet owners live longer than non-pet owners, plus pets help teach responsibility to kids.
Dooby is a handsome male terrier mix who is about 8 ½ years old. This boy has been at our shelter since July and is such a sweet, loving dog! He is good with his kennel-mates and enjoys going for walks. He has only recently become available for adoption since he needed a hernia surgery, but now that he had his operation and has fully recovered, this gentle boy is ready to find a forever home! He is also on our Turkey Dogs adoption special this month for a $100 adoption fee!
Anders is a large male domestic long-haired cat who is 1 year, 8 months old. He is a little on the shy side and enjoys to watch everyone from a high perch most of the time, but does come down to enjoy chin scratches and petting on his long, soft orange fur. As one of our heavier boys, he is available for adoption on our “Fat Cats” special this month for an adoption fee of just $50!
Puppy Palooza is a special adoption event showcasing our cute puppies! Photos attached of Baby and one of her brothers Miles, part of a litter of 8 puppies born at our shelter, now available for adoption.
