The Pet Planet

Welcome to the Pet Planet!  Why adopt a pet? For many reasons: companionship, love, fun, responsibility and perhaps a better sense of self and improved health along the way.

Owning a pet can lower a person's blood pressure. They can relax you by watching them play or stroking their fur. They can decrease the recuperation time of sick patients by giving them something to ease their pain and to look forward to. Pets are now often brought in to children’s hospitals and elderly homes to boost moral.

Watching playful pets can give you a great mood boost after a hard day and make you smile and laugh. If you long for someone to take care of and to be loved by they can fill that need as well. They can help you get exercise and play with you as well.

It is a proven fact that pet owners live longer than non-pet owners, plus pets help teach responsibility to kids.

If you are interested in adopting the animals in the photos, or any of the other animals available at the CCSPCA, please contact them via the contact info listed below.

A18877589 Shyla is a really super sweet 2 year old Persian that had to be humanely shaved and treated due to her condition when she came in. She was very patient with being treated and now she is ready for a loving compassionate family that will take care of all of her needs including regular grooming to keep her healthy. Shyla is available at the PetSmart on Herdon and Willow.
18803080 Toby is a very handsome 4 year old German Shepherd that lives up to the breed standards and traits! He is regal, he is loyal, he responds well to training and commands, he is a big puppy in an adult body. We still have a constant stream of German Shepherds through our animal center so please remember to adopt instead of buy for these great breeds!!

Alphie is a 10 ½ month old female Chihuahua mix who is very spunky!  She loves to get your attention and enjoys romping around with her kennel-mates.  After a long play-session, they all curl up together on their bed to snuggle!  She loves to play with toys and loves people, but finds it so hard to sit still when there is so much to explore!
Gigi is a 3-year-old female domestic shorthair who loves curling up somewhere warm and soft! She was an owner-surrender to the shelter because her previous owner had abandoned her.  She is a gorgeous girl with a beautiful tabico coat and amazing green eyes!  She is also one of our new sponsored cats here at the shelter.

18714753 Sweater came in with a sweater on, he looks like his locks are long enough to supply for a knitted sweater, he is cuddly like a sweater. This handsome boy is an adult Poodle that did come in as a stray, with nothing that could tell us how he lost his way, now he needs a new home today.
A18652519 Cider knows how to relax, and how to make you take a much needed deep breath! He is a 1 year old long haired Orange Tabby that will need brushing to keep his coat matte free. We named him Cider because he is warm, sweet, comforting and memorable. We hope that this handsome boy is curled up in a new home by Christmas!!
A18617898 Moo is spending her second holiday time here at the Animal Center and now she is not a tiny baby, she is a year older and growing quickly. Moo is a part of the investigation case from last December where the horses were all being starved and were basically wild. Moo has come a long way since then, she is growing in her affection for people and she is young enough to work with. Please help give the much needed voice for these horses finally finding deserved, loving forever homes!!
