The Pet Planet

Welcome to the Pet Planet!  Why adopt a pet? For many reasons: companionship, love, fun, responsibility and perhaps a better sense of self and improved health along the way.

Owning a pet can lower a person's blood pressure. They can relax you by watching them play or stroking their fur. They can decrease the recuperation time of sick patients by giving them something to ease their pain and to look forward to. Pets are now often brought in to children’s hospitals and elderly homes to boost moral.

Watching playful pets can give you a great mood boost after a hard day and make you smile and laugh. If you long for someone to take care of and to be loved by they can fill that need as well. They can help you get exercise and play with you as well.

It is a proven fact that pet owners live longer than non-pet owners, plus pets help teach responsibility to kids.

If you are interested in adopting the animals in the photos, or any of the other animals available at the CCSPCA, please contact them via the contact info listed below.

Patience came to us this past May with a litter of her kittens from Clovis Animal Services.  This 3 ½ year old mother was such a good mom to her babies that she instantly won over the hearts of everyone who met her.  She has the sweetest temperament, too, and loves to cuddle and be loved.  She would make a wonderful addition to any home because of her wonderful and loving personality.  As she is an adult, she is on our Home for the Holidays special this month.
Neveah is a spunky female miniature pinscher/Chihuahua mix who is 8 ½ months old.  She likes romping with her puppy kennel-mates and enjoys trying to climb up her kennel door to get the attention of anyone passing by!  She loves to play, but has a cuddly side, too.  She would make a fun, active playmate for a family to take home this holiday season!

337060 Luke melts your heart with just one look. He is an adult Dapple Doxie with legs that are a bit long, so he does look like a tall Doxie, however the classic head tilt that is true to the breed is there and it is priceless. He is a good boy with other dogs, he likes to travel with our staff, and we adore him. We hope that the listeners will too and he will be in a new home soon!
336778 Kleo Is a tiny adult Tuxedo Torbi girl that has a giant personality. She is very affectionate, she is kitten like in her play, she is however 2 to 3 years old so she will always be a small girl. `Anyone who has ever had a Torbi will brag to the ends of the earth of the greatness of which they possess.

Chris (a.k.a. Christmas) is a large male domestic short-haired cat who is part of our declawed population here at the shelter.  He arrived at our shelter as a surrendered pet after the unfortunate death of his original owner and has been with us since April of this year.  He is 11 years old but still has a lot of life to live and a lot of love to give!  I’m sure he would love to find a new family to settle down with to spend his retirement years!
Swat is a 4 ½ year old male Chihuahua/terrier mix who is one of our featured pets for our football promotion.  He is also a sponsored pet!  He has a great personality and is quite a lapdog cuddle bunny!  He also loves to go for walks.  He has been at the shelter since February 2011 and would love to have a forever home for the holidays!
