ARE YOU A NOMOPHOBE?
http://www.mobshield.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/family-dinner-cell-phone-604_0.jpg

Do you need to go to rehab to kick your cell phone habit?

Doctors at a California recovery center say they are working with more and more patients suffering from nomophobia, or the fear of being away from their mobile devices, and that the condition can seriously interfere with people's lives.

"People check their phones up to 34 times a day," says Dr. Elizabeth Waterman, whose clients at Morningside Recovery Center are typically in treatment for other issues, but discover their obsession with their cell phones is a problem in itself.

"If people are constantly on their phone during dinner, one-on-one-time, or family time; it can cause impairment to their relationships," Dr. Waterman told the Daily News. "They're ignoring their social relationships because they're focused on their phone."

While nomophobia is not a clinical disorder — Dr. Waterman is quick to note it's not something doctors technically "diagnose" — it is categorized as a specific phobia, on par with a fear of flying.

"One of the biggest things is anxiety or fear or panic at even the thought of losing their phone," she said. "They make sure their phone is constantly in their reach, obsessively checking the battery life, and take their phone into inappropriate places to use it."

To gauge her patients' phone habits, Dr. Waterman asks a series of questions, such as, "How many times do you check your cellphone?" and "Is your cellphone always within arm's length?"

The Royal Suite on the 5th floor of the Hôtel Plaza Athénée has recently been renovated and redecorated by Marie-José Pommereau.

The Hotel Plaza Athénée last month unveiled its renovated Royal Suite by interior designer Mari-José Pommereau. The Royal Suite tops the list as the most spacious, luxurious and most expensive hotel suite in Paris.

Paris's largest suite, the Royal Suite at the Hotel Plaza Athénée, recently underwent a renovation, led by interior designer and co-founder of the French edition of Architectural Digest magazine, Marie-José Pommereau.

The 4,843 square-foot space comprises four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two lounges as well as an office and a kitchen space.

Italian marble, specially selected for the Royal Suite in the quarries near Verona, has been used for the bathrooms.

The suite overlooks one of the main landmarks of the city, the Eiffel Tower. It also has views onto the famous Avenue Montaigne and its luxury shops.

The renovated suite features a Parisian design blending classical and modern styles. The furniture dates from Louis XV and Louis XVI periods and includes golden and purple finishes for a contemporary look.

The bathrooms are fitted with Italian marble sourced from Verona. One of the bathrooms includes a steam room and Jacuzzi.

Rates in the Royal suite start from €20,000 (about $26,000) per night.

While maintaining the classical feel of the rooms and furnishings, Marie-José Pommereau has given the suite a more modern appearance.

Earlier this year, CNN published a list of the 15 most expensive suites in the world. In third place, at $41,836 a night, was the 4,305 square-foot Ty Warner Penthouse Suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York. The nine-room suite was designed by Peter Marino and offers a 360-degree view of the city.

The four-floor Presidential Suite at the Raj Palace Hotel in Jaipur, India, came in second place. A former residence of Maharaja, the suite has a roof terrace, swimming pool and its own private museum. Rates begin at $45,000 per night.

The most expensive suite in the world, according to CNN's ranking, is the Royal Penthouse Suite at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva. For $65,000 per night, the suite offers panoramic views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. The 12-room suite has a private fitness center, a library and a billiard room.

On CNN's ranking, established before the revamp of the Royal Suite, the room came in as the 11th most expensive in the world.

HOLLYWOOD NEWS:

Brittany Kerr
has issued an apology for getting up close and personal with married country singer Jason Aldean ... chalking the whole thing up to a "lapse in judgment."

The former "American Idol" contestant says, "The actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part."

She adds, "I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends & family."

We broke the story ... Aldean put the moves on Kerr on the patio of a crowded bar on the Sunset Strip last week. Jason later issued an apology ... saying the whole thing was a drunken mistake.

Here's the question/inconsistency. Brittany told friends after we first posted the pics that she didn't know Jason was married. So, if she did know ... why does she now say she had a "lapse in judgment?" Just asking.

The couples of ‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’

There’s a new belle of the “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” ballroom.

On Monday, Sabrina Bryan, who won her spot in the competition following the fan vote, proved she more than deserved her place dancing with professional toe-tapper Louis van Amstel, as the pair rocketed to the top of the leaderboard with a score of 26 out of 30 points.

After recovering from a fall during rehearsals for their competition quickstep earlier in the week, the duo put on a powerful performance that left judge Carrie Ann Inaba screaming with excitement.

“That was ridiculous,” Carrie Ann said after raising her voice in a cheer, praising the ballroom beauty on her body lines. “It was awesome.”

Just a half a point behind the couple were Gilles Marini and Season 14 winner (with Donald Driver) Peta Murgatroyd, landing them in second place for the second week in a row. They earned 25.5 out of 30 for a sexy and thrilling jive, despite Gilles strained abductor muscle in his thigh.
