Rick Springfield played a pair of spontaneous, underground concerts inside two different New York City subway stations. (When you’re not famous, “surprise concerts in a subway station” are called “busking.”)

Was Springfield trying to promote his latest album, or was he simply serenading commuters because he felt bored on Wednesday morning? The point is probably moot — what matters is that he played “Jessie’s Girl,” which remains a solid jam that’s also much harder to belt out at karaoke than it has any right to be. Need proof? Brad Pitt is the first man in history to represent a women's fragrance, thanks to Chanel's dedication to break with tradition.

Brad Pitt was "an obvious choice," the brand explains. "There is no actor alive that compares with Brad Pitt, whose talent, popularity and looks are legendary, in the same way that no other perfume compares with Chanel No. 5, which was created by Ernest Beaux."

HOLLYWOOD DIRT:
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a fine specimen of man ... and now he's showing off that body of his for a good cause!

The "Dancing with the Stars" professional was the latest to step into Ellen DeGeneres' dunk tank, stripping down to a pair of black Ellen boxers on yesterday's episode.

Maks signed up for the stunt to help raise money for breast cancer research, following in the nearly-naked footsteps of "Taken 2" star Liam Neeson.

"Can you sort of appreciate that? How gorgeous is that?" fellow guest Bethenny Frankel asked the out talk show host -- who replied "Of course I can!"

Dina Lohan has played mind games on her daughter to cover her own misdeeds ... this according to Michael Lohan.

TMZ had Lindsay Lohan on TMZ Live Thursday for 18 minutes.  During the interview, in addition to saying she lied to Michael when she said Dina was using cocaine, she swore her dad was now dead to her.  Lindsay sounded enraged that Michael recorded their phone conversation -- which ended up on TMZ.

Michael is adamant ... Dina is pulling the strings, claiming, "This is just another manipulation by Dina to control Lindsay.  Dina is just using Lindsay to cover her tracks."

Michael thinks it's ridiculous Lindsay is now covering for Dina even claiming her mom was fine when she appeared on "Dr. Phil" and the good doc was "vile and disgusting," accusing him of manipulating and berating Dina during the interview.

Michael says, "Why is it that every time someone nails Dina doing something wrong, either on camera or on tape, they are always lying."
LINDSAY is saying - Lindsay Lohan deeply regrets her blowout argument with her mother Dina Lohan -- telling TMZ, what she said on the audio recording was NOT true ... her mother was NOT on cocaine during the fight.

Lindsay called in to "TMZ Live" moments ago -- telling us, "I told my dad a really hurtful and untruthful lie about my mom. She was not on cocaine."

Lindsay says her father Michael Lohanbetrayed her trust by releasing a recording of her desperate phone call to the media.
